J-E-N-N-Y Teacher!

These cute, adorable and a mixture of passive and hyper active kids make my day. I got 16 kids, 11 boys and 5 girls. Every morning would be “good mornings”  and hugs and kisses.

Sometimes the girls would all come to me and hug me all at the same time. They would be pushing and pulling each other and even fight just because they all want to sit on my lap.

Each one of them has personality of their own that differentiate them from the rest. I’ve been with them for more than six months now so I know their own “uniqueness.”They are like my own little kids, though I don’t have one of my own, yet.

Aside from the usual smart, nice, and good boys and girls, there are those who really stand out because of their unique personality or behavior.

One boy I call “little ajussi” because he’s the smallest among the boys but he has the loudest voice and has the most energy to talk…he talks A LOT! Another boy would be rolling all over the floor and prefers to play alone. One girl is like a princess and has the softest voice that I couldn’t even hear what she’s saying. And another would  be so sensitive that she easily cries when reprimanded. Another girl prefers to be with me rather than play with her classmates. ^^*

But inspite of their unique personalities, they are all adorable! I love being with them and I’ve learned a lot from them. In fact, I’m still learning from them, every day.

One day, I taught my kids the song J-E-S-U-S. I wrote J-E-S-U-S on the board and have them identify the letters and asked them if they know how to read it. The conversation went something like this…

Jenny teacher: Do you know how to read J-E-S-U-S?
Daisy Class: Yes!
Jenny teacher: Ok! How do you read J-E-S-U-S?
Daisy Class : (all in chorus) JENNY Teacher!!!
Jenny teacher: 🙂 ^_* ♥♥♥ (heart melting)

I pray that these kids could indeed see Jesus in me. By teaching them Bible verses, Bible songs, by being their friend and teacher, by loving and caring for them, I hope that I’m showing them Jesus. What they see in me may be the only Jesus they would ever know.

the last para is so touching …
it is really true that you got something to study from your kids.
the class 2nd students in our school also have the pt period at same time as ours(10)
and me too have observed from them that when we are small we have all the innocent and when we grow older it will slowly disappearing from us.
    i love your writing..

    1. Hello Safla!
Thank you for reading my post ^^*
And because of that, I’m inspired to write more.
I’m not a writer, though. How I wish I am.
But I want to share my blessings and experiences to others.
And blogging is my simple way of fulfilling that.
I hope to hear your wonderful experiences with your students, too!
      Take care! ~~^^*

  4. Ne, this is a very wonderful experience you just blogged. Very inspiring, especially the last, the conversation about J-E-S-U-S = JENNY! 🙂 It’s truly heart-melting as you said. 🙂

    1. As in, Bro! I suddenly realized that I should be more careful of my actions and words. Their minds, though very simple, can comprehend things that adults are having trouble with. I know, one way or another you’ve experienced it too with your kids ^^* hehehe!

  5. Jenny, I could never give up my 3-year experience in teaching little children in Korea. I believe it has been my greatest training in life, learning the mind of a child. God is using this experience in your life to prepare you for your next “mission field” (if you know what I mean). God bless, friend.

    1. Hello, Friend!

The moment I saw the Mexican flag…I knew it was you. 🙂 Tnx for visiting. ^^*
Yeah, you’re right! As I’ve said in my other post, these kids are way much better teachers than grown-ups. I’m learning from them everyday. No wonder the Kingdom of Heaven is likened to a child…
